PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

ZACK TORRES
Torres has the third-best returning time among all runners who competed at the state meet last fall, regardless of division. His 15:25 was good enough for sixth in Division I.

TYLER VALDES
Valdes finished just ahead of Torres at the DI state meet last fall, also clocking a 15:25 to finish fifth. Valdes, along with twin brother Ryan, also an ESPN RISE All-Area choice, led Dana Hills to the team title.

JORDAN HASAY
Hasay has placed in the top 10 at the Foot Locker national championships the last three years (including a win in 2005). The three-time state XC champ won Gatorade State Runner of the Year last fall.

KAYLIN MAHONEY
Mahoney helped guide Saugus to a Division I state championship by finishing seventh at the DI meet in 17:47. With star Katie Dunn graduated, Mahoney becomes the leader of the Centurions.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON TEENY ADAMS: "Whenever I think about her, I think about one of the toughest competitors out there. She rides BMX motorcycles and she brings that dirtbiking mentality to the cross country course. She's aggressive and tough. She's definitely someone I respect a lot."
