SAM THOMPSON
WHITNEY YOUNG -- BOYS' BASKETBALL

Playing with three headliners like Chris Colvin, Marcus Jordan and Anthony Johnson, it's easy to see why Thompson might be a bit under the radar. He won't be there for long, however. The 6-foot-5 guard could be the most athletic player on the team, and though he's just a sophomore, his ballhandling and passing skills are already top-notch. His outstanding defense also gives Whitney Young a versatile weapon to use against opponents' top scorers. Illinois has already offered him a scholarship, so expect Thompson to be making headlines of his own in the very near future.
