Who's got game? Each month, ESPN RISE finds out. Here are the athletes we recognized in November:
LARA MATHEWSON
HOLY FAMILY -- SOFTBALL
In a clash-of-the-titans battle between Erie and Holy Family, bragging rights as well as a No. 1 ranking itself were on the line. Erie and Holy Family entered their contest ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, when Mathewson, a senior second baseman, took charge of her team when the Tigers needed her most. The All-Colorado player drove in three big runs to help topple top-ranked Erie by an 8-1 margin on Sept. 16.
LARSON GREENFIELD
BUENA VISTA -- FOOTBALL
A team that manages 335 yards of offense is having a pretty good day. A quarterback who throws for 335 yards is having a career day. A running back who rushes for 335 yards is superhuman. Greenfield, a senior tailback, put up nearly a quarter-mile of offense against Colorado Springs Christian on Sept. 12. Greenfield got only 15 carries but scored four touchdowns and his team won, 42-28, on Sept. 13.
GENTRY KNAUB
THOMPSON VALLEY -- GYMNASTICS
Knaub has long been well known for her accomplishments as a gymnast she was named an All- Colorado gymnast by the Rocky Mountain News last year and the senior showed exactly how talented she is at the Loveland Invitational on Sept. 5. Knaub won the competition after posting a combined score of 38.3, besting fellow All- Colorado selection Kelly Stone of Green Mountain.
