MARK MILLER ELDER -- FOOTBALL
It took junior quarterback Mark Miller just one half of play to set the
tone offensively in the Panthers' 52-27 win over Centerville in the
Division I Region 4 playoff opener on Nov. 1. Miller finished 16-for-
26 for 339 yards and three scores, but it was his spectacular
first-half play that catapulted Elder to victory.
He guided the offense to 28 points through
the first two quarters, passing for a pair of
scores on each of Elder's first two possessions
and racking up 264
yards through the air.

ELIZABETH BURCHENAL ST. URSULA -- GIRLS' SOCCER
Burchenal has developed into one of the most prolific scorers in the Girls'
Greater Cincinnati League. In her junior year, she was named league Athlete
of the Year after tallying more than 30 goals. Burchenal scored her 31st goal
of the season chipping in the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Centerville in the
Division I Region 4 finals on Nov. 1. Her efforts helped St. Ursula finish the regular
season ranked No. 1 in the Cincinnati Enquirer coaches' poll.
