PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

NICK AYERS
The Class 5A, Division I All-State selection will be the key part of the team's offense this year. His presence will be huge if Brophy is to repeat as state champ.

DEREK FREEMAN
The East Valley Offensive Player of the Year last season, Freeman returns as one of the captains for Dobson this year and will be a very dangerous presence for opposing teams to mark.

MEGAN STRIEDEL
Opposing defenses had trouble stopping Striedel last season, as the talented midfielder recorded 32 points and earned East Valley Player of the Year honors from the East Valley Tribune.

HAILEY HAYES
Corona del Sol will miss some of the tremendous players who helped the team win a state title last year, but Hayes, a shutout queen (10 last year), will be back to shore up the defense.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON JESSICA PETZNICK:
"They play a three-back system, and she's a big reason why. She's strong in the air and she organizes well. She's just such a strong player for them."
