CASEY TURGEON
DUNEDIN BASEBALL
It's hard to overstate how impressive Casey Turgeon was as a freshman. Sure, it was an experienced team and he didn't need to do too much. But the second baseman still hit over .400 last year, earning All-State third team honors and helping Dunedin capture the Class 5A state title. Turgeon was never flashy but always seemed to provide a base hit, RBI or stolen base when the Falcons needed it most. It probably shouldn't have come as a surprise: Turgeon has been playing ball his entire life, and his brother Erik a Dunedin grad was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2005 and then by the New York Mets in 2008 after playing at UConn.
