PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

CHASE COOPER
Cooper's outstanding vault of 16-7 at the Class 5A state meet last year not only won him a state title, but it also made him one of the top 20 pole vaulters in the nation.

KELBY DIAS
Dias may need a few extra challenges for himself this season after dominating last year's state meet. He won Class 4A titles in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump last year.

EMILY BLOK
Regardless of the class or the competition, no girl in the state was faster than Blok last season. The speedy senior won 4A state titles in the 100, 200 and 400 and was excellent in the jumps as well.

KIAH HICKS
Hicks has a long way to go before she approaches state-record territory, but winning the 4A state crown in the discus by nearly two feet as a freshman is a good start for the young thrower.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON JEREMY RANKIN:
"He's one of the best indoor track athletes in the nation, and he's certainly the best sprinter in our state. He has a chance to be the best sprinter ever to come out of the state of Colorado."
