PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

ZACH BUDISH
Budish missed the entire 2008-09 season after an injury during football season required surgery to repair his ACL. When healthy, the Minnesota recruit is among the state's best.

BEN HANOWSKI
A St. Cloud State recruit, Hanowski will end his high school career as one of the most prolific scorers in state history after he passed up the USHL to play his senior year at Little Falls.

BECKY KORTUM
An All-State second team selection last year by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Kortum is one of the state's most dynamic scoring threats. She will play for the Golden Gophers next season.

KATY KVASNICKA
Kvasnicka finished her freshman year as the second- leading scorer in the state and was continuing that trend this season, as she was again among the leaders in points.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON MICHAEL SPERL:
"He's very angle-oriented. He has a lot of experience, and so he controls rebounds very well. He's not a flopper or a stand-up goalie. He's just very solid. He's very calm and steady."
