Got Game Oregon

3/30/2009

JESSY REYNOLDS

UNION — SOFTBALL

Reynolds was simply special in last year's Class
2A/1A finals, firing a no-hitter to lead Union to
a 10-0 win over Nestucca. The junior hurler
punched out nine of the first 10 batters she
faced and finished with 14 K's. Reynolds was
equally good at the plate, going 3-for-4 with
three runs scored and two RBIs. She was
named The Oregonian's Player of the Year
in Class 2A/1A and looks to lead Union
back to the finals this spring.

SHAYLA BALL

HILLSBORO — GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Tournament time is when you want to take your game to another
level. That's exactly what Ball did in Hillsboro's contest against
Crook County in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs on
Feb. 28. The Northwest Oregon Conference Player of
the Year, Ball torched the Cowgirls for 31 points,
22 boards and five dimes to lead the
Spartans to a 72-59 victory. Ball turned it
up in the second half as she hauled
down 16 boards and successfully
converted 13 of 16
free throws.
