NICK RATAJCZAK
Ratajczak was the best-hitting second baseman in the area last season, batting .491 with 19 doubles, six triples and two homers. He also drove in a team-high 55 runs for the state semifinalists.

JUSTIN RINGO
Stagg seriously needs to print new record books. Ringo set school marks for batting average (.533), home runs (15), on-base percentage (.654), slugging (1.200) and walks (37) last year.

JACK DeANO
DeAno put up a tremendous line in 2008, going 7-1 with a 1.03 ERA and helping Wheaton North reach the state semifinals. He tossed a team-high 61 innings and gave up just 45 hits.

IAN KROL
The Arizona recruit is the area's most dominant pitcher, with a 17-2 career record, a 1.05 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 120 innings. Krol pitched Neuqua Valley to a state title in 2007.

Coach's Take

AN AREA COACH ON NICK RATAJCZAK:
"He's like a lefty Dustin Pedroia. He gets up and shoots the ball to the opposite field, he hits line drives, he knows how to get on base, and defensively he can make all the plays."
