2009 AAU Super Showcase info

Updated: July 20, 2009, 2:46 PM ET

The AAU Super Showcase presented by Champion is an invite-only event for the nation's marquee U-17 AAU boys' basketball teams. It includes two days of pool play and a single-elimination tournament. Notable players from previous years include NBA All-Stars Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Amar' Stoudemire.

Featured Speaker
Former Duke and Chicago Bulls point guard Jay Williams will be on hand speaking to the players and taking part in activities. A two-time AAU Super Showcase participant, Williams was the 2001-02 NCAA Player of the Year while at Duke before becoming the No. 2 pick of the 2002 NBA Draft. Williams' career was cut short when he mangled his left knee in a motorcycle accident, and he now does work for ESPN as a college basketball analyst.

Rewind
Now in its 11th year, the AAU Super Showcase is a breeding ground for future NBA stars. Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Amar'e Stoudemire, Al Jefferson, Monta Ellis, Rudy Gay, Emeka Okafor, Luol Deng, Rashard McCants and Sean May have all played in the event. The 2008 champion, Oklahoma City-based squad Athletes First, featured Kansas-bound guard Xavier Henry.
