Got Game: N.Y. Metro

Who's got game? Each month, ESPN Rise finds out. Here are athletes who we recognized from New York in September:

SAMANTHA ROSARIO
LINDENHURST -- GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
Look out when playing against Rosario, because there's a good chance a spike could be coming right at you. Now a senior, the outside hitter averaged 25 kills and seven digs per contest as a junior while leading Lindenhurst to the Class AA county semifinals. She racked up postseason awards at nearly the same clip, starting with League I naming her Player of the Year and finishing with Newsday giving her Suffolk Player of the Year honors.

CHRIS ALFANO
IONA PREP -- FOOTBALL
At only 5-foot-8, Alfano doesn't intimidate too many opponents with his size. But once the ball is snapped, it's almost impossible to stop him. Last year, Alfano caught 59 balls for 1,011 yards, leading all players in the PSAL and CHSFL in receiving yards. Alfano, a fierce competitor who could be compared to former Jets standout Wayne Chrebet, was a Daily News All-City pick last fall.
