PHOENIX -- Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal played six innings defensively and went 0 for 2 with a walk in three plate appearances for high Single-A Inland Empire on Tuesday night against Lake Elsinore. Furcal is expected to complete his two-game, minor league rehabilitation assignment with the 66ers on Wednesday afternoon, then come off the 15-day disabled list in time for the Dodgers' game at San Diego on Friday night.
Furcal walked in his first plate appearance in the first inning and was forced out at second on a ground ball by Bridger Hunt. Furcal struck out in the third and flied to center in the sixth, then left the game. All three plate appearances came against San Diego pitching prospect Nick Schmidt.
Furcal hasn't played since April 27, when he strained his left hamstring running out a doubleplay grounder in the first game of a doubleheader at New York.
