Supercross is headed to Dodger Stadium for the first time.
AMA Supercross announced its 2011 schedule on Monday and it includes a trip through Chavez Ravine for the third race of the season on Jan. 22. The series also will be making its first appearance at Oakland-Alameda County Stadium since 1984 the following weekend.
The 17-race Supercross season kicks off at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., on Jan. 8, then heads to Phoenix before hitting Dodger Stadium. It also includes a stop at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and concludes May 7 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., became just the second rookie to win the Supercross season championship a year ago.
