With Monday's 9 p.m. PT deadline for signing this year's draft picks fast approaching, it remained unclear as of Sunday evening whether the Dodgers will sign their first-round selection, McKinney (Texas) High School right-hander Zach Lee.

Lee, 18, presently is participating in summer football drills at Louisiana State University, where he has accepted a full scholarship as a quarterback and plans to spend the spring playing in the school's storied baseball program.

Lee told reporters at a Southeastern Conference media event last week that he hasn't "really heard anything" from the Dodgers, who took him with the 28th overall pick despite the fact Lee made no secret of the fact he planned to honor his commitment to LSU.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, via text message, declined to comment on the matter. Logan White, the Dodgers' assistant GM in charge of amateur scouting, didn't immediately return a voicemail message from ESPNLosAngeles.com.
