ANAHEIM -- The Los Angeles Angels placed reliever Francisco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list with a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder and recalled Kevin Jepsen from Triple-A Salt Lake before Wednesday's game with the Chicago White Sox.
Rodriguez will get rest and rehabilitation for his shoulder after a recent increase in pain. The Angels don't know when he'll be ready to pitch again.
Rodriguez, who pitched 43 games for the Angels last year, began the season at Triple-A. He had a 4.61 ERA for the Angels in 10 games.
Jepsen was the Angels' primary right-handed setup man two seasons ago, but he was demoted on April 10 along with fellow reliever Michael Kohn after struggling in his first few outings. He had a 4.76 ERA in 12 games at Salt Lake.
