Andrew Bynum's MRI negative

LOS ANGELES -- The results of the MRI performed on the right knee of Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum on Tuesday came back negative, according to the team.

Lakers spokesman John Black said the exam -- the first on Bynum's knee since before training camp and scheduled in order to compare how the knee looked then versus now -- showed nothing "abnormal" or "unexpected."

Bynum was in the locker room before the Lakers hosted the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night wearing his new, tighter brace on the knee along with shorts and an athletic shirt and seemed in good spirits as he made his way to a workout.

Bynum is expected to start individual jumping and lateral-movement exercises this week and return to full-court contact drills with the rest of the team sometime in the next two weeks.

Lakers head coach Phil Jackson suggested the 23-year-old big man could return to game action on Dec. 10 when the Lakers play the Bulls in Chicago.
