DeAnthony Thomas visits Oregon

USC is getting close to wrapping up a highly regarded recruiting class even while under NCAA sanctions, but Trojans fans and coaches might have to sweat out the commitment of one decorated player.

Crenshaw High tailback DeAnthony Thomas, ranked No. 16 in the ESPNU 150, visited Oregon over the weekend, and there have been reports that Thomas might be wavering in his decision to attend USC.

Thomas, one of two five-star players in the Los Angeles area, verbally committed to USC last summer, but players can't sign national letters of intent until Wednesday at the earliest. If Thomas bolts for Oregon, USC still could sign a top-10 class, headlined by Serra High receiver George Farmer.

Farmer's father, also named George, told ESPNLosAngeles.com this weekend that his son was intent on playing for the Trojans.

"George isn't going anywhere," George Farmer Sr. said.

Thomas' Crenshaw teammate, offensive lineman Marcus Martin, visited Colorado over the weekend.

Martin said he remains solidly committed to USC but is unsure of what Thomas will do.

"The final verdict will be on signing day," Martin said.
