Tennessee Titans defensive back Alterraun Verner has returned to UCLA and is taking winter quarter classes.

Verner, who left UCLA last year after his junior season, is living in an on-campus dormitory as he works toward completing his degree in Mathematics-Applied Science.

"I made a commitment to myself last year that I would return to UCLA to work on completing the requirements for my degree," said Verner, who is enrolled in three classes this quarter. "It's great being back at UCLA. I'm going to enjoy living up at the dorms and seeing all the familiar faces on campus. It feels like home to me."

Verner is coming off an outstanding rookie season for the Titans. He started 12 games and made 101 tackles and three interceptions. His 101 tackles were most among NFL cornerbacks and second among all NFL rookies.

At UCLA, he had 13 career interceptions to rank eighth on UCLA's all-time list, and had a school-record four interception returns for touchdowns.

But academics have always been a high priority for Verner, who was a first-team Pac-10 All-Academic team selection in 2007 and '08 and was a second-team selection in '09.
