Ortiz appears to have earned spot

Although it won't be made public until Sunday, the Dodgers' season-opening roster has been tentatively set, with veteran right-hander Russ Ortiz having beaten out infielder Nick Green in a battle for the final spot. The decision between the two non-roster invitees came down to club officials' desire to begin the season with a 12-man pitching staff.
