Turf toe sets Haeger back

Charlie Haeger said the latest injury to his right foot, which is classified as turf toe, happened during a May 24 rehab start for high Class A Inland Empire at Rancho Cucamonga when he turned to make a pickoff throw to first.

"The mound there is extremely hard," he said. "I don't think I have ever thrown off a mound that hard in my life. Of course I had a hole dug next to the rubber. When I turned to throw to first, my foot went into the hole."
