NEW YORK -- Though rumors continue to swirl that the Los Angeles Angels are pursuing an impact bat before the July 31 trade deadline, general manager Tony Reagins has quietly set his sights on more easily attainable infield help.

According to a major league source, Reagins has focused his pursuit on Kansas City Royals third baseman Alberto Callaspo, a former Angel farmhand.
