Dodgers recall Jansen, designate Miller

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled highly touted reliever Kenley Jansen from Double-A Chattanooga on Friday after the strapping right-hander from Curacao, who possesses a mid-90s fastball, posted a combined 1.60 ERA in 33 appearances this season for the Lookouts and high Single-A Inland Empire.

To clear a roster spot, the Dodgers designated reliever Justin Miller for assignment. The move means the Dodgers will continue, at least for now, to play with a 13-man pitching ...
