UCLA's Datone Jones may miss season

LOS ANGELES -- UCLA defensive end Datone Jones will have surgery to insert a screw into his broken right foot Friday and could miss the season, coach Rick Neuheisel said Wednesday.

Jones, the lone returning starter on the Bruins' defensive line, had four sacks and 11 tackles for a loss last season.

He injured the foot when he stepped awkwardly during practice Tuesday. Neuheisel originally thought the injury would keep Jones out only until early October, but was less optimistic ...
