Andre Ethier extends hit streak

MIAMI -- One day after breaking the record for longest April hitting streak, Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier extended it to 24 games, the longest in the majors in two seasons.

Ethier stroked a one-out single to center field off Florida Marlins right-hander Anibal Sanchez in the fourth inning on Wednesday afternoon.

But he wasn't done by a long shot. Ethier added a 10th inning home run that won it for the Dodgers 5-4. He finished 2 for 5 with the RBI and scored two runs.
