Andre Ethier's streak hits 27 games

LOS ANGELES -- Andre Ethier extended the second-longest hitting streak in Los Angeles Dodgers history to 27 games with a leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh inning against San Diego Padres right-hander Dustin Moseley on Sunday.

The hit came on a sharp grounder up the line that got past Padres first baseman Brad Hawpe. Hawpe made a lunging attempt, but the ball caromed off his glove, over his head and a few feet into right field as Ethier easily beat it out. Don Hartack, ...
