Kings trade Ryan Smyth to Oilers

Ryan Smyth is finally on his way back to Edmonton.

Smyth was traded to the Oilers in exchange for forward Colin Fraser and a seventh-round draft pick in the 2012 NHL draft, Los Angeles Kings general manager Dean Lombardi announced Sunday.

Smyth had asked for a trade out of Los Angeles for family reasons, wanting to return to his original NHL team, the Oilers.
