Jered Weaver to start for AL

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Los Angeles Angels right-hander Jered Weaver was informed Sunday morning that he will be starting Tuesday's All-Star Game for the American League.

He'll be the first Angel to start the game since Mark Langston in 1993.

This is Weaver's second trip to an All-Star Game, but the first time he will actually pitch. Weaver said it was "definitely a little surprising" when Angels manager Mike Scioscia informed him. Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington called Scioscia ...
