Watson's International League-record streak ends at 43 games

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Brandon Watson's International League-record hitting streak was snapped at 43 games Monday night after he went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in Columbus' 6-0 victory over Rochester.

"It was fun while it lasted," Watson said. "It wasn't going to last forever."

Watson singled off J.D. Durbin in the sixth inning Sunday at Ottawa, extending his streak to 43 games and breaking the league mark set in 1912 by Jack Lelivelt of the Rochester Hustlers.
