Pirates pitcher suspended 50 games
NEW YORK -- A pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization has been suspended 50 games under the minor league drug program.
Arquimedes Lorenzo was a member of Pittsburgh's team in the Dominican Summer League.
The commissioner's office imposed the penalty Monday and said it will start when next season begins.
There have been 86 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program and two under the major league program.
