A-Rod expensive, not valuable

Alex Rodriguez could very well be the AL's best player, but one thing he's not is the league's most valuable.

It's time to clear this up before the stampede picks up too much steam:

Alex Rodriguez is not the MVP in the American League this year.

He may be the most talented player in the American League. He may have the prettiest overall numbers in the American League. He may look like a fabulous MVP candidate if you crunch those trendy OPS and Runs Above Replacement Value analyses.

But he's not the MVP. Not this year.
