Left-hander agrees to one-year contract

MIAMI -- Darren Oliver agreed Wednesday to a $750,000, one-year contract with the Florida Marlins, a deal contingent on the left-hander passing a physical.

Oliver, 33, went 13-11 with a 5.04 ERA in 33 games and 180 innings for the Colorado Rockies last season.

He's expected to get the final spot in Florida's rotation until right-hander A.J. Burnett completes his rehabilitation from reconstructive elbow surgery. Burnett, who tore a ligament last April, is hoping to rejoin the team by ...
