Catcher Phillips, Blue Jays agree to minor-league deal

TORONTO -- Jason Phillips and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed Tuesday to a minor-league contract, and the catcher was invited to spring training.
Phillips
Phillips hit .239 with 10 home runs and 55 RBI with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season but then became a free agent when the Dodgers failed to offer a contract by the Dec. 20 deadline. He spent his first four major-league seasons with the New York Mets and is a career .254 hitter.
