Blue Jays hire former major-leaguer Ducey as scout

TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays hired former outfielder Rob Ducey on Monday as a professional scout.

A Toronto native, Ducey will be responsible for spring training coverage as well as scouting the majors and minors throughout the season.

Ducey began his coaching career in 2004 as an instructor for the Montreal Expos' Double-A affiliate in Harrisburg and spent last season as the hitting coach for the Staten Island Yankees of the Class A New York-Penn League. He is expected to be part ...
