Cubs, GM Hendry agree on two-year extension

CHICAGO -- Cubs general manager Jim Hendry agreed Saturday on a two-year contract extension through the 2008 season.

"It's something that I don't take lightly," said Hendry, who was in the final year of his contract. "It's a great, great franchise."
