Padres' Greene goes on DL; Thompson promoted for fourth time

SAN DIEGO -- Padres shortstop Khalil Greene was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left middle finger on Saturday, and rookie right-hander Mike Thompson was brought up from Triple-A for the fourth time this season to start against Arizona.

Thompson started in place of Clay Hensley, who reported a pain in his left buttocks in recent days.
