Sweeney leaves game with knee injury
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City designated hitter Mike Sweeney left Saturday night's game with tightness in his left knee.
After drawing a walk with two outs, Sweeney tried to advance on Mark Teahen's single, but could only make it to second base. He flexed his knee and winced in pain. Sweeney was replaced by pinch runner Esteban German, who later scored on Reggie Sanders' RBIs double.
Sweeney was activated Aug. 8 after spending the previous 98 days
