Kendrick placed on DL with left hand injury
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Already struggling to manufacture runs and find a way out of last place in the AL West, the Los Angeles Angels have lost one of their more productive hitters indefinitely.
Second baseman Howie Kendrick, whose .327 batting average was second to Vladimir Guerrero's, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday after being diagnosed with a broken bone in his left hand. The club has not given a timetable for Kendrick's return.
