Marlins pitcher Sanchez undergoes season-ending shoulder surgery

MIAMI -- Florida Marlins right-hander Anibal Sanchez will miss the rest of the season after undergoing an operation Thursday that repaired a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder.

The injury was discovered during exploratory arthroscopic surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. Sanchez will wait three to four months before he can resume throwing, the Marlins said.
