Padilla drops appeal of 7-game suspension

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers starting pitcher Vicente Padilla dropped the appeal of his seven-game suspension and started serving it Thursday night.
Padilla was suspended Tuesday for intentionally throwing at Oakland's Nick Swisher, who then charged the mound in the first inning of Sunday's game in Oakland. Swisher was suspended three games, and has already sat out two games.
Before he dropped his appeal, Padilla started Wednesday night in
