Deal close to have Mets, Marlins play regular-season series in Puerto Rico

ORLANDO -- Major League Baseball International and a Puerto Rican businessman are close to reaching an agreement to have the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins play some regular season games in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Mets, who have Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado -- two of the best Puerto Rican players in the majors -- would play as visitors against the Marlins in San Juan from July 28-30.
