Versatile Cintron signs minor league deal with Cubs

MESA, Ariz. -- Infielder Alex Cintron could be moving across town for the 2008 season after agreeing to a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs.
The 29-year-old has a career .277 batting average in parts of seven major league seasons. He played the last two seasons with the Chicago White Sox and was with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2001-05.
Cintron has played 338 major league games at shortstop, 109 at second base and 88 games at third base.
