Granderson plays first game of season for Tigers

DETROIT -- Center fielder Curtis Granderson was activated from the disabled list Wednesday and played his first game of the season for the Detroit Tigers.

Granderson went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs in the Tigers' 19-6 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Granderson broke a finger on his right hand late in spring training when he was hit by a pitch. The leadoff man missed the first 21 games of the year for the Tigers, who have gotten off to a slow start.
