Rogers, a 20-year veteran, has given up at least six runs in his last four starts
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Detroit Tigers veteran pitcher Kenny Rogers won't pitch again this season.
"We're not going to pitch Kenny. We shut him down for the rest of the season," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Monday. Leyland didn't give a reason for his decision.
Rogers is a free agent at the end of the season and the Tigers are unlikely to re-sign the 43-year-old veteran of 20 major league seasons.
