Reliever Dohmann heads to Japan

Reliever Scott Dohmann became the fourth big league pitcher to sign a deal with a Japanese club this offseason, reaching agreement on a one-year, guaranteed $650,000 contract with the Hiroshima Carp.

The contract includes incentives that could bring the overall value to almost $1 million.

Dohmann, 30, has a 9-8 record in 164 career appearances with Colorado, Kansas City and Tampa Bay. He beat out Grant Balfour in spring training for a spot in the Tampa Bay bullpen, but lost ...
