Floyd, Padres agree to deal

The San Diego Padres have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent outfielder Cliff Floyd

ESPN.com's Jayson Stark first reported the deal, which guarantees Floyd $750,000 plus bonuses.

Floyd, 36, spent last season with Tampa Bay, where he primarily served as a designated hitter. He batted .268, with 11 homers and a .443 slugging percentage, in 246 at-bats.
