Crawford leaves in 1st, Hallion in 6th
ORONTO -- It was a tough night to be the home plate umpire when the Rays and Jays played Wednesday.
Crew chief Jerry Crawford left took a foul ball off his face mask and after two innings and his replacement, Tom Hallion, had to leave after he was struck in the chest by a pitch from Rays lefty Scott Kazmir in the sixth.
Hallion left the field in the bottom of the second to change into his gear to work the plate, then replaced Crawford between innings.
