MIAMI -- Nathan Eovaldi won only four times in 22 starts this season, numbers that hardly would suggest a promising future.

The Miami Marlins think otherwise.

Outpitched by Cole Hamels, Eovaldi struck out seven in six innings Sunday as the Marlins lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1. Eovaldi gave up three runs, all in the first inning.
