Glossary
Ex W-L: expected win-loss record
This is derived from Bill James’ Pythagorean theorem of baseball:
Runs scored [squared]/(Runs scored [squared] + runs allowed [squared])
and applied to each team’s remaining games. This formula was designed to relate a team’s runs scored and runs allowed to its won-lost record.

POFF: Percent chance of each team making the playoffs. For an explanation of POFF and other playoff projections, go to coolstandings.com

() - Magic number to clinch
x - Clinched division title
y - Clinched wild card
z - Clinched playoff berth
* - Clinched best league record
