Rodriguez doubts deal will happen

MIAMI -- So where does Alex Rodriguez think he'll be playing
next season?

"If I had to guess, if I was a betting man, I would probably
say that I probably would be back in Texas," the AL MVP said

The Rangers and Boston Red Sox are exploring a trade where left
fielder Manny Ramirez would be sent to Texas for the star
shortstop. The possible deal would be a swap of baseball's only $20
million-a-year players.

"When you have a lot of smoke and a lot of talks going on,
usually nothing gets done," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez hit .298 with 47 home runs and 118 RBIs last season.
Ramirez hit .325, second-best in the AL, with 37 home runs and 104

Rodriguez was in Miami to visit his old high school, where he
sponsors an annual basketball tournament.
